Freedoom: Phase 1

Play Freedoom Phase 1, a classic first-person shooter campaign, in a community-hosted browser port. Freedoom supplies original Doom-compatible levels, artwork and sound under BSD-3-Clause; the linked demo uses the Chocolate Doom engine. This is an external game page, not a Denny Games-hosted port.

Opens on: Freedoom community browser build. New tab; host requirements apply.

How to play

  1. Explore each level, find routes forward and survive encounters with the enemies in your path.
  2. Look for doors, switches and supplies while watching your health and ammunition.
  3. The linked build opens Freedoom Phase 1. Other campaigns and multiplayer modes are not promised by this listing.

Make your move

  • Keyboard: arrow keys move and turn; Ctrl fires; Space opens doors; comma and period strafe; number keys switch weapons.
  • Touch: use the controls shown below the game viewport in the external build.
  • This page opens a third-party browser build in a new tab. Its loading time and behavior depend on that host.

A small head start

  • Check side rooms for switches and supplies before moving deeper.
  • Use strafing to dodge while keeping enemies in view.
  • The host README says the first load is about 35 MB; wait for it to finish before starting.

Compatibility notes

This independent demo runs a Chocolate Doom WebAssembly port with Freedoom Phase 1 data. Its README says the first load is about 35 MB, identifies the engine and game-data licenses, and says it includes no proprietary id Software Doom WAD. Denny Games does not host the build or distribute WAD files; the web wrapper's terms are not stated there.

Denny Games has not verified this external build's gameplay, browser compatibility, controls or save behavior. Check the host's current requirements.

Play style: Directions. This game runs on an independent host or browser build. Denny Games does not manage its account, session or saves; see the notes above for how this build handles them.
