We Become What We Behold

Photograph small moments in a town square, then watch the news loop reshape what its circle and square characters notice. It runs on an external host; gameplay and terms follow that page.

Opens on: Nicky Case's HTML5 game page on itch.io. New tab; host requirements apply.

How to play

  1. Observe how the moments you capture and publish change what the town sees next.
  2. A short mouse-driven interactive story about news cycles and feedback loops. The author releases the code and artwork under open terms, with sound credits kept separate; its ending contains stylized violence.
  3. Use the external host's game menu for detailed rules and any restart or save options.

Make your move

  • Mouse: click a scene to take a picture. Continue observing the square as the story reacts to what gets published.
  • Check the host's Help or Controls guide for every key and touch action.
  • Denny Games has not verified a complete external game session or device compatibility.

A small head start

  • Try photographing different kinds of moments and notice how the loop changes over time.
  • Read the host's controls and rules before starting a longer run.

Compatibility notes

The author's itch.io page lists a released HTML5 game with mouse input and an optional Support This Game button. On 2026-10-16 one automated GET returned HTTP 429; HEAD and a later GET returned HTTP 200. Browser access was not verified. The short story uses dark humor and ends with stylized violence. No complete session, saved state or device behavior was tested.

Denny Games has not verified this external build's gameplay, browser compatibility, controls or save behavior. Check the host's current requirements.

Play style: Check host controls. This game runs on an independent host or browser build. Denny Games does not manage its account, session or saves; see the notes above for how this build handles them.
